A Letter About Our Inaugural Sound Bath

Dear Friends,

This morning, I woke with a quiet sense of anticipation. It’s May 1. A new month. A shift in season. And tonight, we experience our first Yoga and Wellness event together: Somatic Yoga & Sound Bath.

While sitting in meditation, I found myself reflecting on something subtle but important: what actually makes us who we are? It isn’t just the body. It’s not just our thoughts or the stories we tell ourselves. Not even our so-called “energy” captures it completely. I’ve been searching for a word that holds all of it.

Then the word “attitude” popped into my head. Not in the usual way - not just in regards to mindset or outlook - but in a deeper, more embodied sense.

Attitude is form. It’s posture. It’s the way we hold ourselves in space and in life.
It’s the shape of our muscles, the quality of our emotions, the pace of our breath, the background hum of our beliefs.
Every attitude is a pattern, and those patterns shape how we feel, how we think, and how we act.

They’re not just in the mind—they live in the tissues, in the way the jaw tightens, the chest collapses, the hands grip, the belly braces.
When our attitudes are rigid, our whole system becomes cautious. We cling to the known. We move less. Feel less. Trust less.

But when our excitement is allowed—when it’s welcomed, supported, and safe—our attitudes expand.
The chest opens. Arms reach out. The heart softens. Expression returns.
We start to believe again that the world is friendly, and that we belong in it.

That’s really what tonight is about.

Not just relaxing. Not just unwinding. But reuniting the parts of ourselves - body, mind, emotion, breath, voice, intuition - into one coherent presence.

So that we don’t live split: reaching with one part and holding back with another.
But instead move as a whole - integrated, honest, alive.

That’s where peace is found. That’s where inspiration lives.

See you tonight.

—Matthew
