Salsa Dance Lessons in Chicago
If all you're looking for is information about private Salsa lessons or Salsa group classes in Chicago, click one of the below buttons. If you're interested in learning more about what makes Salsa a must in any dancer's vocabulary, keep reading!
When you think of Salsa, what's the first thing that comes to mind? Don't say "chips." We hear that all the time. It's not funny.
When you think Salsa, you probably see images of Miami Beach, or Havana, and think of a hippy (like in the hips, not like socks with Birkenstocks and patchouli), flirtatious dance. If that's not what you thought about, it's okay (and if you really did just think about chips, you probably need to eat lunch), most people come to Ballroom Dance Chicago with little more knowledge than that dancing Salsa looks like fun and they want to learn how to do it.
And the reality is that you don't really need to know anything about the history or culture of Salsa to enjoy it. The joy is built in. The music is fun. The movement is fun. And you can't help but smile when you dance it or watch people dance it. So if you come to us and you don't speak Spanish or know anything about Afro-Cuban rhythm and you just want to learn Salsa, great, we can still teach you (if you do want to learn a little more about the culture and music, check out this useful resource). In fact, all we need to teach you Salsa or any other dance style is for you have a passion to learn.
Now at this point, especially if you've read this far, it's apparent that you're ready to learn to dance Salsa. Now you need to just get out of your own way and schedule a lesson. I know, it can be more difficult than it seems to find time in one's schedule for a new activity. But if this is something you care about, we care about helping you make it happen. So...for now, you can learn the basic step from the tutorial video below. Just do me a favor: when you're done learning from the video, give us a call or email us right away to schedule a complimentary salsa consultation.
Research shows that if you don't act within the first 5 seconds of having an urge, you probably won't follow through. So make sure that you don't (yet again?) put this off for another day. The time is now!
